Program Director, Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency
Elizabeth Lucal, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist who serves as the Program Director for Health Quest’s Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program in addition to maintaining an active clinical practice. As Program Director, Dr. Lucal supervises residents in all areas of clinical practice and contributes to resident research and didactic experiences.
Dr. Lucal has over 20 years of experience in obstetrics and gynecology. She graduated from Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine and completed her residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii. Her experience as an OB/GYN was obtained in the US Army where she spent 13 years. During that time she served as the Chief of the very active OB/GYN Department at Fort Drum, was deployed to Iraq, and was a consultant in enlarging the OB/GYN Department that served the Army’s famous 10th Mountain Division. Dr. Lucal has always included a commitment to teach within her work and helped to organize teaching and training rotations for medical students and midwives assigned to Fort Drum’s OB/GYN Department. Upon leaving the Army, Dr. Lucal continued active practice where she also served as Chairwoman of the OB/GYN Department for Samaritan Medical Center and started a small OB/GYN practice.
Dr. Lucal is a native of the Hudson Valley and was excited to return in order to participate in the academic programs initiated by Health Quest. She has a lifelong passion for women’s health and empowerment, as well as learning, teaching and community research. She is eagerly looking forward to building the foundation of OB/GYN GME programs at Health Quest.
